Insiders pie tip #1

I used to be constantly stuck with pie recipes that were designed for 9" or little tin pie plates. Since I never feel okay about a skimpy pie (who could?) I found the cutest little 4" pie plates and now I just double all recipes, fill my big 10" pie plate, and then make mini pies with the remaining filling. There are always uses for the little extra pies and they turn out so cute. I've also let my kids make their own little crusts and pies in these plates, when I'm making a bigger pie. Definately worth the little investment :o)

I have about 20 of those little pie tins, and never thought to use them for this. I will definitely be using them for Christmas though, thanks!

I made individual chicken pot pies with my mini tins, but I like the idea of a pie all to myself.
